Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón has chosen photographs by Riccardo Romani for the set design of Disclaimer, the original series premiering October 11 on Apple TV. Disclaimer, starring Cate Blanchett, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Kevin Kline, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, where it received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics.
A selection of Riccardo Romani’s war reportage photographs, taken in Afghanistan, Haiti, and Iraq, provide the backdrop in scenes featuring two of the main characters—Catherine Ravencroft (Blanchett) and Robert Ravencroft (Cohen). In the storyline, Catherine is a highly successful journalist, while Robert heads a major foundation dedicated to humanitarian work.
